Let's start with overview...


TENANT PORTAL OVERVIEW:


Once all configurations are completed at Admin Portal, login to Tenant Portal:

https://FQDN_of_WAP_Machine:30071/




Click on Continue to this website:



Here is the default Tenant Portal Login Access where You can create Your Virtual Machines based on subscription:






PUBLIC ACCESS CONFIGURATION FOR TENANT PORTAL LOGIN:


To configure Tenant Portal for public access, You need to follow below steps:

  • Change Tenant Portal binding setting to Port 443.
  • Change all SQL Tables where Tenant Portal FQDN Link with Port 30071 is mentioned with WAP Machine IP without any port.
  • Configure Netting at firewall end with Public IP. You can also define different display name for website like xyz.com
  • Open Port 30072 from Public IP to WAP IP.
Open IIS Manager, Click on Tenant Site and then Click on Binding Settings and change Port to 443:



Now, Change Database Tables settings with WAP IP. To do this, Open WAP Database, select below DB one by one, expand them, Expand Table, Right Click on Config.Settings & Click on Edit 1000 Rows:

  • Microsoft.MgmtSvc.PortalConfigStore
  • Microsoft.MgmtSvc.Store
Change whereever You see Tenant Site Link with port 30071 to https://WAP_Machine_IP/



Once all changes done in DB Tables, ask Network Team to configure netting between WAP IP & Public IP with display name for public and ask to open Port 30072 (Used for Tenant Portal authentication).

After configuring netting, You will be able to access Tenant Portal Login from anywhere via Internet:

Microsoft Windows Azure Pack (PRIVATE CLOUD - WAP) - Integration process with SPF and SCVMM & Post Configurations - Part 7

Let's start to see installation step by step...


INTEGRATION PROCESS:


To integrate back-end infra with SPF & SCVMM, You have to integrate or register SPF & SCVMM on Windows Azure Pack Administrator Portal.

REGISTER SPF:


Before registering SPF in WAP Admin portal, make sure You have created local account in SPF machine which will be used to register SPF.

Open IE Explorer in WAP Machine and check if SPF URL is working with local user account:

https://SPF_MACHINE_FQDN:8090/   (SPF machine run on Port 8090 by default):




Open IIS Manager, Click on Admin Site and then Click on Browse from Action Pane in right hand side:



Click on VM Cloud Tab, then click on Cloud Icon and then click on Link given to register as SPF as shown below:




Provide SPF Server URL, Local account details created for SPF registration in SPF machine and Click Next:



Registration completed:





REGISTER SCVMM:



Click on Cloud Tab and click on link given to add VMM server:




Give FQDN for VMM Server:



Successfully Registered:



Click on Arrow Icon, You will see all cloud name which is created in SCVMM:




POST CONFIGURATIONS:



CONFIGURE PLAN:



Click on plan and then click on Link given to configure Plan:



Give name to create plan like Gold, Silver etc and click next:



Select service which You want to align with hosted plan and click next:



Click on Tick mark to create plan:



Plan created successfully, Click on Arrow Icon to configure plan:



Click on Service to configure it:



Select VMM Management Server and Cloud:




Drag down & Select required resources like network, profile, template one by one which You want to add to service etc:



Once completed, Click on Save:



Synchronization will take some time to configure, once completed, status will change to Active:





CREATE TENANT ACCOUNT:


For Tenant login access, create Tenant Account from Administrator Portal.


Click on User accounts and click create a new user:




Give details for new tenant account and click create:



New User subscription will be created in SCVMM which will take some time (Approx. 3 to 5 mins). Once completed, status will change to Active. Click on Arrow Icon to see subscription status:



Subscription is created and Active which can be used:




ADD PLAN:


To align resources to Tenant, You have to add plan subscription to Tenant.

Click on Arrow Icon:



Click on Subscription:




Select the plan You want to assign to the User and Click on Tick-mark:



Subscription will take some time to configure. once completed, status will change to Active:




This is all about integration process & post-configurations for Windows Azure Pack.

Let's start to see installation step by step...


PREREQUISITES:


ADD ROLES & FEATURES:


Install below Roles & Features from Server Manager:

Roles:


  • Web Server (IIS) - Complete



Features:



  • .Net Framework 3.5 Features
  • HTTP Activation


  • IIS Hostable  Web Core
  • Management OData IIS Extension


  • Windows Process Activation Services
  • WinRM IIS Extension



Web Server Role (IIS) - Role Services:


  • Common HTTP Features
  • Health & Diagnostics




  • Security





  • Application Deployment:




  • Management Tools:

Click Install:



Click Close:



WINDOWS AZURE PACK - INSTALLATION:


For Installing WAP, below requirements must be completed:

  • Internet must be available on the machine. 
  • Windows Platform installer 5.0 must be downloaded and installed on the machine.


Run the Windows Platform installer 5.0 Console:



Click on Product, Select Windows Azure, Click on Add button for Windows Azure Pack: portal and API Express & Click on Install:



Click I Accept:



Click Continue:


Click Continue:



Click Finish:



Open Add remove program console from Control panel, You will see all sites are installed:


WAP Installation completed here...

WINDOWS AZURE PACK - CONFIGURATION:


After You Finish installation, WAP Configuration Site Opened so provide WAP Database Server details, credentials and click on arrow:

NOTE: Provide only "SA" account to configure Database. Configuration will fail if You configure with domain account. This is prerequisites for WAP DB Configuration. By Default, whenever I install SQL Server Instances, I use to select mixed account (both windows & SA account).


Click on Next Arrow:



Click on Tick icon to prepare DB for WAP Sites:



Click on Tick Mark once all sites are configured successfully:



Click Yes:



Open IIS Manager to see all configured sites:


Configuration is completed.



This is all about installation and configuration of Windows Azure Pack. In my next post, I will show You Post configuration & Integration process with SPF & SCVMM.
